Love It or Leave It? Beauty Edition
I've been trying out all lot of different makeup and skincare products lately, so I'm sharing which ones I actually love and what I would rather leave out of my routine.
A lot of the items are similar, so if you are on the fence about which ones you should try this might help you decide!
NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM: TRANSYLVANIA VS. COPENHAGEN
I've been obsessed with this matte lip cream the shade Copenhagen. It's the perfect bold plum color, very pigmented (even with one layer applied), and super comfortable to wear...complement-worthy for sure!
I loved that one so much that I wanted to try a darker color so I choose Transylvania. This is supposed to be a deep violet purple, but on it doesn't show up that way on my skin tone. It's like the less flattering version of Copenhagen that has a different undertone and applies patchier.
CHARCOAL FACE WASH: BIORE VS. L'OREAL
A while back I decided to try out this face wash by Biore, because charcoal was the trendy new ingredient to put in everything at the time. Not sure exactly why I choose that particular skincare brand I broke out and couldn't even finish using the product. At first, I thought it was because of the charcoal but it wasn't.
So, recently I finished using the pure clay + charcoal cleanser by L'Oreal and didn't have any problems. My skin was noticeably brighter (detoxified? IDK), so I would repurchase this.
OLAY: DAILY FACIALS VS. RENEGERIST
I heard from other bloggers and Youtubers that the 5 in 1 wipes were really good. I liked the concept of it, so I decided to try it after finishing all of my L'Oreal face wash. I broke out just like I did with the Biore! Long story short, I discovered that both of them contain parabens, so I was having an allergic reaction to those ingredients (my skin is still recovering btw).
However, my all time favorite cleanser is the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Pore Scrub! I originally bought it because at one point my skin was feeling rough and looking kind of dull. This made my skin brighter, softer and smoother, so I love it! It's my go-to, I've repurchased it multiple times!
NIP + FAB GLYCOLIC FIX: NIGHT PADS EXTREME VS. FOAMING CLEANSING PADS
I've tried and tested many Nip + Fab skincare products (thanks guys), but the Glycolic Fix range is my favorite. I tried the foaming (cleansing) pads and ended up using whole container! I definitely would buy it myself, because I'm here for anything that brightens and exfoliates!
The night (treatment) pads haven't given me any negative side effects, but also didn't excite me enough (upon first trying them) to be added to my daily skincare routine.
That was my trial (allergic reaction fail), review, and comparison of these similar beauty products.
Hopefully, this helped if you were deciding whether or not to get any of these! It's always great to test out new things to learn what works or doesn't work for you.
